About this course

High performing students will be given the opportunity to complete a substantial individual Master thesis project on a topic of current research interest under the supervision of an ANU academic.

Learning outcomes

1Plan, manage and execute a substantial project.
2Explain the significance of the project in the context of the literature, the problem which the project solves, and the implications of what has been learned in conducting the project.
3Demonstrate mastery of the underlying theory of the project subject matter and analysis techniques.
4Demonstrate mastery of a non-trivial technical skill in a scientific or engineering field.
5Analyse and interpret the results of the project.
6Communicate the project objectives, process and results to practising engineers and scientists in written and verbal form.
