School of Engineering · ANU College of Systems and Society
This is a flexible 6 or 12 unit course that allows students to undertake a substantial research project on an appropriate engineering topic. Students will be expected to carry out independent research on this topic whilst working under a supervisor who is affiliated with the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The nature of the project can be theoretical, experimental, design or development based on the interests of the student and the availability of supervisors. Students are expected to engage in their individual project work for no less than 10 hours a week on average (for a 12 units project taken over two semesters). Please note that the above figures are only indicative. Research work has a degree of unpredictability, and individual time management and research choices can have a significant impact on the time demands of a project. It is common for projects to also involve work during non-teaching periods (mid-semester and/or winter/summer break). Students should manage and monitor their project workload in consultation with their supervisor. Work Integrated Learning Projects In this course, you will undertake a research project. The nature of the project can be theoretical, experimental, design or development based on the interests of the student and the availability of supervisors.
